Alan Caiger-Smith, Aldermaston tin glaze pottery egg cup

Alan Caiger-Smith was the founder of the Aldermaston pottery in Berkshire which was active between 1955 and 2006. He is celebrated for reviving the use of tin glaze, an ancient technique first developed in 8th century Mesopotamia.
A generous bowl surrounding this egg cup provides plenty of room for toast soldiers.
